Abstract	This paper investigated the effect of unevenly magnetized magnets to the cogging torque. First, through qualitative analysis of cogging torque, the generation of slot harmonic component is explained. Second, it is found that the slot harmonic can be suppressed by locating the magnets under specific condition even if the magnets are irregularly magnetized respect to each other. Finally, it is verified with the experimental result.
