Abstract This paper presents a comprehensive methodology for applying FMECA(Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) to railway vehicle braking systems, guided by international and national standards. In this paper, through the analysis of related regulations and requirements, the primary failure modes were identified, and an FMECA method was developed based on these results. By comparing and analyzing the proposed FMECA methodology with actual field data and confirming its effectiveness, it was possible to confirm the utility of the proposed analysis method as a means of verification for RAMS related conformity assessment.
