| Abstract |
This paper proposes a method for analyzing the characteristics of an induction generator considering variations in magnetizing inductance when a three-phase squirrel cage induction motor is used as an induction generator. Magnetizing inductance decreases with increasing magnetizing current due to magnetic saturation. In this study, magnetizing inductance is modeled as a quadratic function that decreases as magnetizing current increases. The characteristics of an induction generator are analyzed with changes in slip while taking into account changes in magnetizing inductance. The results are then compared with those obtained using the conventional analysis method, which assumes a constant magnetizing inductance. By comparing the two sets of results, the differences arising from the consideration of magnetizing inductance variation are investigated, and the errors caused by neglecting inductance variation are evaluated. |
